The time had come for the tanning capacities to specialize. In 1986, Zazsons was opened with strong technological know-how from Europe. Zazsons concentrated on goat, sheep and buff-calf leathers. Machinery was, and continues to be, imported to ensure the prowess of Zaz in the market. Europe is the main market and high grade leathers from Zazsons find their way in the couture houses of European women’s and men’s fashion. The State Trading Corporation of India (SCI) was known to pass orders to no one in India but Zazsons, due to its massive specialized production capacity and timely quality delivery.

By the end of the eighty’s Zazsons product was firmly established, and kept up with technological advancements of the West. Then, buyers wanted high quality uppers, and they wanted them from Zazsons. The time was ripening for the next transition and Zazsons immediately reacted with a production of thousand pairs a day – an initiative that none could surpass in India.
